Singer Shivranjani Singh has a girl crush on Urvashi Rautela

Playback singer Shivranjani Singh is ecstatic. Reason? Her song 'I Wanna Tera Ishq' from 'Great Grand Masti', was picturised on the woman she has a girl "crush" on - Urvashi Rautela.

Shivranjani says, "I love her, and when I came to know I was singing for her in the movie, I was super happy. When I was a kid, I'd watched 'Masti' with my friends. Little did I know then, that one day I would also be contributing to, and be a part of this franchise. It's surreal and I am on cloud nine!"

With just a little less than a year in the Bollywood playback industry, Shivranjani(previously Shivi) already has quite a few popular numbers to her credit. 'Oh Boy' from 'Kya Kool Hai Hum 3', 'Lalla Lalla Lori' from 'Welcome to Karachi' and 'Love to Hate You' from 'Hate Story 3' are among them.

Though not a trained musician, her love for music made her participate in the reality show — 'Hannah Montana - The Big Popstar Dream Contest' in 2008. Shivranjani, at 13, bagged the title and also won a trip to America. Post that, she went on to complete her studies and now at 21, is back to doing what she loves.

Considering the fact that the level of competition in Bollywood singing is at its brutal best, we ask if it is the wrong time to enter the industry. Aren't there too many singers who are exceptionally talented? Pat comes her reply, "It is not about how well you sing, rather, it is about your voice tonality, your unique style, and most importantly what can you bring to the table as an artiste."

Being the daughter of a classically trained singer has not influenced Shivranjani's style of singing. She says, "I follow the Western style of singing and am influenced by Beyonce, Rihanna. I love Lataji but Ashaji is my all-time favourite singer. My forte is dance numbers and also romantic songs." The singer has worked with some prominent music directors like Rochak Kohli, Sajid-Wajid, Ankit Tiwari, Sanjeev-Darshan and Amaal Malik.

Shivranjani has signed up for quite a few big banner films and also a few singles. "This has been a fab year and I am looking forward to doing a lot of great work," she signs off.

Fan Army Face-Off: Justin Bieber's Beliebers in Tight Race Against The Weeknd's XO Crew

Fan Army Face-Off: Justin Bieber's Beliebers in Tight Race Against The Weeknd's XO Crew

The Weeknd’s XO Crew might be intoxicated by their falsetto-singing leader, but is that enough to take onJustin Bieber’s infamous band of Beliebers? In this week’s round ofBillboard’s Fan-Army Face-Off, the two Canadian singers go to civil war in the battle between the XO Crew and Beliebers.
With collaborations on Drake’s “Crew Love” and Wiz Khalifa’s “Remember You,” it was no question that The Weeknd was destined to become an R&B/hip-hop sensation. The artist’s 2011 debut mixtape House of Balloons spawned the song “Wicked Games,” which appeared again on the compilation album Trilogy in 2012, and second mixtape Thursday brought a collaboration with Drake. The Weeknd's latest album, Beauty Behind the Madness, was a true marker of success for the R&B star, with megahit singles like “The Hills,” “Often,” “Earned It” and “Can’t Feel My Face.” The XO Crew gained their name from The Weeknd’s “XO/The Host” and the artist's logo, which is a reference to ecstasy and oxycodone.

As YouTube’s biggest breakout star, Justin Bieber proved that there is “Purpose” to posting cover songs online. From the release of his debut EP My World, Bieber gained millions of Beliebers with singles like “One Time” and “One Less Lonely Girl.” Since then, the Canadian singer has released plenty of chart hits, including “Baby,” “Love Yourself,” “What Do You Mean?,” “Never Say Never,” “Boyfriend,” “As Long as You Love Me” and many more. Beliebers have stuck with Bieber through good times and bad, making him one of the most followed people on Instagram.
Billboard’s Fan Army Face-Off: Vote!
The XO Crew has a tough battle ahead of them. Both The Weeknd’s and Beiber’s fandoms have gone back and forth in claiming the lead in this round. Bieber’s “Baby” may be the most disliked video on YouTube, but Beliebers will really be “Sorry” if The Weeknd’s XO Crew votes them out.

Diana Ross Brings Glamour, Gowns and Hits to the Hollywood Bowl

Diana Ross Brings Glamour, Gowns and Hits to the Hollywood Bowl

Diana Ross brought glamour, gowns and endless hits to the Hollywood Bowl on Friday night (July 15), for her first Los Angeles concert in nearly three years.
The Supremes diva arrived onstage in dramatic fashion: she descended from the ceiling of the Bowl stage on a swing while singing her smash single “I’m Coming Out.” In the next 15 minutes, she tore through a nothing-but-the-hits medley of “More Today Than Yesterday,” “My World Is Empty Without You,” “Baby Love,” “Stop! In the Name of Love,” “Come See About Me” and “You Can’t Hurry Love.”
Ross is in the enviable position of having simply too many hits to perform in a single concert. As a solo artist and with The Supremes, she’s earned a total of 18 No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (six solo, 12 with The Supremes). She wasn’t able to squeeze in every No. 1 hit into the setlist, but she certainly gave it the old college try, as she played 10 of her chart toppers (including five of her six solo leaders). Her only solo No. 1 absent from the setlist was her “Endless Love” duet with Lionel Richie.
'Endless Love' - The No. 1 Love Song of All Time on the Hot 100
A salsa breakdown at the end of “Love Child” afforded Ross time to make her first costume change of the evening. (There were more to come.) She soon emerged in an extravagant gold ensemble to sing a dance-heavy segment featuring “The Boss,” “Upside Down,” “Love Hangover,” “Take Me Higher” and “Ease On Down the Road.” During “Upside Down,” an audience member handed Ross a Life magazine with her on the cover. A pleasantly stunned Ross exclaimed that it was “from 1972!” and shared it with the crowd.
Up next was a salute to the music of Billie Holiday and the film Lady Sings the Blues(for which Ross received an Academy Award nomination as Holiday). The entertainer — who was in fine voice throughout the evening — treated the crowd to “Don’t Explain” and “Good Morning Heartache.” Ross dedicated the latter tune to her former love and Motown label boss, Berry Gordy.
Approaching the end of the show, Ross performed “Reach Out and Touch (Somebody’s Hand),” and indeed the audience did (mostly) reach out and touch. Much of the crowd swayed back and forth, holding hands high up in the air. We even spotted a Bowl usher getting caught up in the moment, as they linked arms with fans.

The brisk 80-minute show (Ross hit the stage at 9 p.m. and was off by 10:20) was supported by Ross’ tight nine-member band, which included three backing vocalists. A cappella group Naturally 7 opened the evening, while Ross’ daughter Tracee Ellis Ross introduced her mother. Ross will play a second show at the Hollywood Bowl on July 16.
